In short: No, bodybuilding is not steroids. An ordinary person who goes to the gym for a good-looking body and well-being doesn't need pharmacology at all. A beautiful, healthy body is built on three things: training, discipline and nutrition.
Where this myth comes from
Most people form their opinion from the picture on stage: huge athletes with extreme definition. But that's like judging all of running by the Olympic marathon. The professional bodybuilding stage is the peak — a show where the body's extreme limits are put on display.
Where the real line is
A professional athlete trains twice a day, and that load wears down the endocrine system. "Training every day for two weeks, a person loses up to 50% of their testosterone." Someone who trains 2–4 times a week with normal recovery never ends up in that situation — the body restores itself.
PROFORM's position: a clear rule
"Come to the gym and you won't find any substances there — no one will recommend them." A coach must be not only knowledgeable but also a decent person who guides the client toward health.
What actually builds the body
Strength training, discipline, nutrition (enough protein) and recovery. A natural athlete gains 3–5 kg of lean muscle per year — slow, but a real result.
